In
1987, Kent and Joan Enderle of Simi Valley, California unveiled the first
ever "Enderle Pull-Off" at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, Ohio.
It was to
reward competitors for their support of Enderle Fuel Injection products The
first Enderle Pull-Off was a rousing success. It saw thousands of fans
witnessing fifty of the top NTPA competitors lay it on the line for a
Enderle purse of $17,800.00.
In
1991, the event moved to Fort Recovery, Ohio and continued through last
summer at Ambassador Park. For the 20th Annual Event, it has moved to the
Champaign Co. Fairgrounds in Urbana, Ohio. Last season, the Enderle had a
total purse of $61,205.00 paid out to competitors. In 2006, the Enderle
Pull-Off will encroach on the $900,000.00 mark - $889,914.00 to be exact.
This figure extends their own record-setting mark of being pulling's longest
running, special program.
For
competitors looking to qualify for the Enderle Pull-Off, the top
competitors in the nation battle all year long for that honor. Selection is
based as follows: The vehicles in the top five (5) points standings in each
designated division of the NTPA Grand National Pulling Circuit and the point
leader in Regions 2, 3, 4, & 5 in each designated division of the NTPA
Regional National Pulling Circuit will compete in the 20th annual Enderle
Pull-Off. Twelve divisions = 56
competitors in this year's Enderle Pull-Off!
