Worthington, Ohio---On Saturday, August 12, the National Tractor Pullers Association teams with the Norwalk Lions Club in Norwalk, Wisconsin to present the Norwalk Lions Truck and Tractor Pull at Norwalk Village Park. Part of the NTPA Championship Pulling Series, the event will include Grand National classes of Four-Wheel-Drive Trucks in each of two sessions, at noon and 6:30 p.m., as well as one invitational, five Regional National, and four state-level classes.
In truck and tractor pulling, vehicles drag a 20-ton weight transfer sled along a straight, dirt track as the sled's resistance increases. Within a class of similar vehicles, the puller that achieves the greatest distance is victorious The NTPA is the world's number-one sanctioning organization for premier-level events that feature highly specialized machines resembling farm tractors, trucks, and dragsters and dedicated competitors that battle for purse money and end-of-season championships. With superchargers emitting an ear-splitting whine, massive tires churning clay at 100-mph wheelspeeds, turbochargers pumping columns of diesel smoke into the sky, and engine combinations exceeding 10,000 horsepower, high-performance pulling offers fans a multitude of thrills unmatched by any other motorsport.
In addition to the GN Four Wheel Drives, on the card for the noon session of the Norwalk Lions Pull are Regional National Heavy Super Stock Diesel Tractors and Two-Wheel-Drive Trucks, plus Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association Light Super Stock and Light Pro Stock Tractors and Modified Minis. The Two and Four Wheel Drives and Heavy Supers return at 6:30 p.m. and are joined by RN Limited Pro Stock Tractors, WTPA Super Farm Tractors, and invitational Super Semis. Licensed competitors in the national classes will earn points toward championships in Region III (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) and berths in the 31st Enderle Memorial Pull-Off all-star invitational in Urbana, Ohio on Saturday, September 16. The WTPA, an NTPA member state organization, sanctions events throughout Wisconsin.
