Worthington, Ohio---Napoleon, Ohio: Get ready to hear the power and feel the noise!
In conjunction with the Henry County Fair, the National Tractor Pullers Association will present the Henry County Fair Pull on Saturday, August 11 at the Henry County Fairgrounds. The session will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will consist of three Grand National and two Regional National classes.
In truck and tractor pulling, vehicles drag a 20-ton weight transfer sled along a straight, dirt track as the sled's resistance increases. Within a class of similar vehicles, the puller that achieves the greatest distance is victorious. The NTPA is the world's number-one sanctioning organization for premier-level events that feature highly specialized machines resembling farm tractors, trucks, and dragsters and dedicated competitors that battle for purse money and end-of-season championships. No other motorsport offers the diversity of vehicle types, variety of engine combinations, intensity of brand rivalries, and accessibility of competitors. If you're looking for fierce, fair competition in a family-friendly, patriotic atmosphere, give truck and tractor pulling a try in Napoleon.
The Henry County Fair event is part of the NTPA's Grand National Pulling Circuit presented by Case IH Agriculture, which will award in excess of $50,000 at year's end to top competitors across 13 divisions. Participants in Napoleon's five divisions---Grand National Super Stock Diesel and Pro Stock Tractors and Modified Minis and Regional National Two-Wheel-Drive and Four-Wheel-Drive Trucks---will compete for GN or Region II championships and berths in the NTPA's end-of-season all-star invitational Enderle Pull-Off on Saturday, September 15 in Urbana, Ohio.
Winners at Napoleon in 2017 were Colin Ross of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania ("Triple Bypass" SSD), Chance McGrath of Lower Knoxford, New Brunswick ("Last Chance II" PS), Adam Koester of Wadesville, Indiana ("Walk the Line" MINI), Renee Theobald of Shelbyville, Indiana ("Pretty Wicked" TWD), and Steve Elchinger of Holgate, Ohio ("Just Passin' Thru" FWD).
Expected to compete in Napoleon in defense of their 2017 championships are Ross, Charles Pelletier of St. Armand, Quebec ("CP Dream II" PS), Randy Petro of Camden, Ohio ("Vintage Kathy's Komplaint" TWD-W), and Elchinger.
Fans in Napoleon will see all the action on the massive NTPA Mobile Videoboard, which features multiple camera angles, on-screen driver/vehicle identification and distances, and instant replays.
