Worthington, Ohio---Compared with the weeks that comprised July and early August, it's an easygoing weekend on the national schedule. But points races never take a weekend off, and five Grand National divisions will be as busy as ever.
In Sandusky, Ohio on Friday, August 11 at 6:30 p.m., it's the Erie County Fair Pull, with five classes that you can see, live-streamed, at WatchNTPA.com. GN Pro Stocks and Mini and Twin-Engine Light Unlimited Modifieds join Region II Heavy Super Stocks and Multi-Engine Modifieds. Point leaders in each division are Charles Pelletier's "CP Dream II" (PS, +11), the Bobcat Team's "Bobcat Jr." (MINI, +11.5), Brandon Simon's "Simon Sez" (LT UNL, +7), John Pfeiffer's "Pfeiffermax" (HSS, +9), and Ryan Writsel's "Lucky Stryke" (MOD, +12).
Much of the caravan will then drive about 80 miles west, past Bowling Green, to Napoleon, Ohio and the Henry County Fair. There, the Pros and Minis will be supplemented with GN Super Stock Diesels as well as RN Two Wheel Drives (West) and Four Wheel Drives on Saturday, August 12 at 6:30 p.m. Holding top spots are Travis Schlabach's "Bone Twister" (SSD, +10), Randy Petro's "Vintage Kathy's Komplaint" (TWD-W, +7), and Steve Elchinger's "Just Passin' Thru" (FWD, +4).
A bit further west in Norwalk, Wisconsin we find the Norwalk Lions Truck and Tractor Pull in two sessions on Saturday, August 12 at noon and 6:30 p.m. Grand National Four-Wheel-Drive Trucks and Region III Heavy Super Stock Diesels and Two Wheel Drives will appear twice, with Wisconsin state Light Supers, Light Pros, and Minis in the afternoon and regional Limited Pros, state Super Farms, and invitational Semis in the evening. Leading the way in the national classes are Peyton Davis' "Punisher" (FWD, +19) and David Henderson's "Stray Horse Gone Wild" (HSSD, +1), while ties hold in TWD and LIM PS: Dustin Amundson's "Bottoms Up"/Kim Moore's "Pack Rat VII" (+4) and Jason Rosenquist's "Gold Rush"/Kevin Lindstrom's "Hyper Harvester" (+3).
And back in Ohio, it's the Muskingum County Fair Pull in Zanesville, Ohio on Sunday, August 13 at 7 p.m. Heavy Supers, Eastern Light Pros and Two Wheelers, and Modifieds are on the slate. On the first lines of the standings tables are Kendall Houk's "Nothing Special" (LT PS-E, +15) and Jeff Writsel's "At It Again" (TWD-E, +16).
Next week, it is the arrival of BG, plus Region III action in Owatonna. We'll get you ready for both seven days from now.
