Week 17 Preview

Worthington, Ohio---Four events across Indiana and Illinois will serve to wrap up five Grand National and several Region II and III titles. As our attention begins to focus on the Enderle, let's not lose sight of the honor that comes from being the very best over an entire pulling campaign, and let's congratulate the winners already known and those to be determined this week.

On Thursday, September 6 and Saturday, September 8, it's the DeKalb County Fair Nationals in Sandwich, Illinois. The Thursday "Truck Night" commences at 6:30 p.m. with Grand National Super Stock Diesel 4x4s and Region III Two Wheel Drives, Four Wheel Drives, and Pro Stock Diesel 4x4 3.6s. Then, the Saturday 'Tractor Day" offers two sessions, at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., each of which will include Super Stock Diesels, Super Farms, Pro Stocks, and Modifieds. Leading the way entering competition are Stan and Steve Blagrave of Ackerly, Texas ("Red Horse" SSD), Stan Warda of Berrien Springs, Michigan ("Hammerin' Hank" SF), Charles Pelletier of St. Armand, Quebec ("CP Dream II" PS), Carl Atley of Xenia, Ohio ("Lethal Weapon" SSD 4x4), Doug Lively of State Center, Iowa ("Bank Robber" MOD), Dustin Amundson of Nerstrand, Minnesota ("Bottoms Up" TWD), and Cory Lemirande of Little Suanico, Wisconsin ("Breakin' Da Law" FWD).

The Roanoke Fall Festival in Roanoke, Indiana features five Region II classes at "Thunder in the Park" on Friday, September 7 at 7 p.m.: Western Light Pros, Limited Pros, Western Two Wheel Drives, Western StainlessDiesel.com Pro Stock Diesel 4x4 3.0s, and Modifieds. Hoping to seal the deal are Wes Spencer of Greenville, Ohio ("Bush Wacker" LT PS-W), Brad and Garrett Boldry of Rochester, Indiana ("Smoke Fever" LIM PS), Randy Petro of Camden, Ohio ("Vintage Kathy's Komplaint" TWD-W), Adam Hallien of Fort. Wayne, Indiana ("Wrecker" PSD 4x4 3.0-W), and Ryan Writsel of Orient, Ohio ("Lucky Stryke" MOD).

Then in Lynn, Indiana, the Lynn Lions Club will present Light Super Stocks, Limited Pro Stocks, Light Pro Stocks (West), and Four Wheel Drives on Saturday, September 8 at 7 p.m. Jason Irvin of Brookville, Ohio and Steve Elchinger of Holgate, Ohio lead the way with their "Drunkin' Punkin" LSS and "Jus' Passin' Thru" FWD, respectively.

And Tipton,Indiana's Tipton Fall Nationals are also on Saturday. They'll get going at 8 p.m. with Super Farms and Western Two Wheelers and StainlessDiesel.com 3.0s. Charlie and Nick Capozzo's "Cruel Inentions" of Richmond, Michigan is on point in Super Farm.

Week 18 starts fast with Old Washington, Ohio on Tuesday and Allegan, Michigan on Thursday before the celebration begins in Urbana on Saturday. Check back with us to find out where to go to get that tractor pulling fix in these last few weeks of summer.
