Worthington, Ohio---World Pulling International and the Monroe County Agricultural Society have agreed to a three-year contract that will extend the National Tractor Pullers Association’s sanctioning of Tomah, Wisconsin’s Budweiser Dairyland Super Nationals through 2023. The event, a mainstay on the NTPA calendar since 1976, was already under the Association’s auspices through 2020.
Dates for the 44th through 48th editions of the Budweiser Dairyland Super Nationals, Thursdays through Saturdays all, are June 20-22, 2019; June 25-27, 2020; June 24-26, 2021; June 23-25, 2022; and June 22-24, 2023. Start times for 2019’s three night sessions (including Fan Appreciation on Thursday and Military Appreciation/Motorcycle Parade on Friday) are each 7 p.m.; day sessions (including Kidz Klub Day on Friday and Salute to the Farmer Day on Saturday) will begin at noon.
“We are proud to announce this continuation of the relationship between the Monroe County Ag Society and WPI,” began Gregg Randall, NTPA General Manager. “By virtue of its history as a comprehensive event in terms of its number of classes and sessions, the Budweiser Dairyland Super Nationals is a cornerstone of the NTPA Grand National regular-season schedule and is where the points races really kick into high gear.”
Indeed, 12 of 13 GN divisions will make two appearances apiece at Recreation Park in 2019, while three Region III tractor divisions---Super Farm, Light Pro Stock, and Limited Pro Stock---will run once each.
“It’s one of the best measuring sticks we’ve got in the sport of pulling,” Randall surmised. “On that clay, in front of that crowd, you find out what you have---and what everybody else has---under the hood.”
From its beginnings in September of the United States’ Bicentennial Year as a stopover for competitors traveling to Minnesota’s Farmfest pull, Tomah has taken its place as one of the upper Midwest’s most highly regarded sporting events. By recent estimates, it has benefited the greater Monroe County economy with tourism dollars numbering in the hundreds of millions.
A 17-time winner of the NTPA’s National Pull of the Year Award, the Budweiser Dairyland Super Nationals additionally sponsors the Association’s National Year-End Point Fund as well as the plaques presented to each season’s Grand National Champions.
