The Lions Super Pull of the South, a midsummer spectacle renowned for warm hospitality and fiery competition, will continue its preeminence as a Super National event according to an agreement signed by the Chapel Hill Lions Club and the Association.

The Super Pull of the South is presented by Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and Lyons Chevrolet-Buick-GMC of Lewisburg, Tennessee.

“When you say ‘Chapel Hill’ to a competitor, some words immediately spring to their mind,” began Gregg Randall, NTPA General Manager. “First, it’s always a tough track. Second, it’s always a great crowd and an amazing atmosphere. Third, it’s how the Lions Club can’t do enough for them to make them happy and comfortable. It’s like an oasis in the middle of a long season, a chance to relax.

“But at the same time,” Randall continued, “it’s a place that can define a season.”

Participating in the next five Super Pulls will be Super Stock Diesels, Pro Stocks, Four Wheel Drives, Minis, and Unlimiteds. The single track running alongside U.S. 31A is a staple on the “NTPA Championship Pulling” RFD-TV series schedule, and the event is also broadcast live at WatchNTPA.com.

The Super Pull has been named the NTPA’s “Pull of the Year” eight times since 1988, and proceeds benefit community and Lions Club programs. The Motorsports Park is part of a facility which hosts a fieldhouse and playing fields that are used by area athletic teams throughout the year. See more at LionsSuperPull.com.
