Dan Swenby, Father of "100 Proof" Pullers Nick and Justin, Has Passed

The NTPA regrets to report the death on Thursday, May 18 of Daniel Douglas Swenby, 65, of Downing, Wisconsin, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Mr. Swenby was the father of Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association and Region III Super Stock pullers Justin and Nick Swenby ("100 Proof").

Mr. Swenby was the owner and operator of Glenwood City Dairy Center for 10 years and a salesman for Pete's Automotive Supply untll his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and Glenwood City's fire and ambulance departments. In addition to his support of Justin and Nick's pulling team, Mr. Swenby was an outdoorsman and racing and football fan.

Mr. Swenby is survived by his wife Marlys; sons Justin (Katie) and Nick (Sheila); grandchildren Owen, Esdyn, Ava, and Bryn; brothers David (Pam), Darren (Beth), Dennis, and Devin (Brandee); sisters Debby (Eugene) Klatt, Denise Timblin, Darla (Bucky) Utecht, and Dori (Scott) Goodell; brother-in-law James (Tina) McGilton; and sisters-in-law Eleanor (Fritz) Larson and Virginia (Larry) Thorson. He is further survived by aunts, nieces, nephews and his special furry friend Bowie. Mr. Swenby's full obituary may be found here, where condolences may be left for the family.
