Father of PS Competitor Cody Shay Has Passed

The NTPA is saddened to learn of the death on Tuesday, October 30 of Robert E. Shay, 72, of Creston, Iowa. Mr. Shay was the father of Grand National Pro Stock competitor Cody Shay (Red Edge Pro).

 
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Shay received several awards for his service to the nation including the Purple Heart and the M-14 Marksmanship Medal. He was a lifelong farmer, raising cattle on his family's land outside Benton. A proud father of four, Mr. Shay enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards, and touring the pulling circuit.
 
In addition to Cody and his wife Karen, Mr. Shay is survived by sons Roby (Natalie), Tory (Brandi), and Cassidy (Angie), sisters Carol (Jim) Sheldon and Janice (David) Lindemoen, nine grandchildren, nieces, and other relatives. His complete obituary may be found here.
