Jim and Paul Holman's Father Has Passed; Update: Funeral Info

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Howard Holman, the father of GN Four Wheel Drive competitors Jim and Paul Holman. Mr. Holman, who passed away peacefully late Wednesday morning. had just turned 93 on January 24 and celebrated his 72nd wedding anniversary with wife Jeanette on Tuesday, February 7.

Mr. Holman was a dairy farmer in Chesterfield Township until his initial retirement from that profession in 1966; after eight years, he returned to help out on son Paul's farm. He also worked as a union carpenter for over 20 years. An avid fan and valued crewmember of his sons' "4 Play" Chevrolet pulling team, Mr. Holman was also very supportive of his grandchldren's activities.

In addition to Jeanette, Howard is survived by his sister, Martha Powers; four sons: David and his wife Theresa, John and his wife Marsha, Paul and his wife Michelle, and James and his wife Beth; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
