Pro Stock Competitor Jay Haning Has Died

It is our sad duty to report the passing on Thursday, November 16 of competitor Jay Haning, 40, of Morton, Illinois after an extended battle with cancer. Mr. Haning pulled the "Buck with No Doe" John Deere 8470R Pro Stock on the Grand National Circuit in 2017.

Mr. Haning started his tractor pulling hobby at age 14 with a Hart-Parr, then teamed with the Friedrich family on their component Pro Stock a dozen years ago. After graduating from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in 1999,  he worked for John Deere across several of the company's divisions including ag service training instruction and customer support management. He traveled throughout the U.S. and briefly lived in Australia while testing prototype baling equipment for the Hay and Forage Division.

Surviving are his father Duane; one brother, Brad (Julie): one sister, Jill (Mike) Leahy; and three nephews, Brady, Nolan, and Calan Leahy. Mr. Haning's full obituary may be found here; condolences may be expressed online here.

Our hearts go out to the Haning family and pulling team at this difficult time.
