Worthington, Ohio---The NTPA and the Washington County Tractor Pullers will present the Hub City Grand Nationals at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland. Scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13, the event will include four GN divisions in each of two sessions beginning at 7 p.m.
Pro Stock Tractors, Two Wheel Drive Trucks, twin-engine Light Unlimiteds, and multi-engine Modifieds will do battle on the historic clay half-mile.
“It’s an awesome feeling to be a part of bringing NTPA pulling back to Maryland, southern Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia,” stated GM Gregg Randall. “Washington County Pullers events appeared regularly on the schedule throughout the mid-1980s, and we’re proud to renew that stop on the national tour.”
The Hub City Nationals will serve as a backyard game for three GN competitors. Hagerstown native Tim Ammons and his “Ultimate Harvester” Case IH Pro Stock have run the premier circuit for the past couple of seasons, while Bryan McDonald of Kennedyville pulled “Suffering Sanity” to a Shell Rotella Cup TWD title in 2016 and finished fourth in the national standings last year. And Harwood’s Keith Wayson and his Light Unlimited “Super Bee” buzzed their way to a championship in their 2015 rookie season and have finished in the top three ever since.
“Super excited to see the NTPA GN-level back in Hagerstown,” Ammons enthused. “It’s been a lot of hard work laying the groundwork through WCTP and sponsors to get this event off. It’s also great to have my class in my hometown. It should be a great two-day event and hopefully an annual event for this area.”
Constructed in 1947, Hagerstown Speedway opens for its 72nd season of competition this spring. Bringing in the NTPA is one facet of the track’s strategy to diversify its competition among several motorsport series.
