Russell Vandeveer, Salem GN Promoter, Has Passed

The WPI/NTPA family mourns the loss on Tuesday, November 21 of Russell Vandeveer, 66, of Kinmundy, Illinois. Mr. Vandeveer was one of the promoters of the Marion County NTPA Grand Nationals in Salem, Illinois.

Mr. Vandeveer served as a state director of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs and secretary of the Marion County Fair as well as his local school board and Soil and Water Conservation Board. He was a member of the Illinois Tractor Pullers Association and enjoyed attending tractor pulls and hunting with his family.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, mother Lucille, brothers Ray Jr. (Ellen) and Rolland (Cindy), sisters Mary Ann (Norman) Rhoades and Marilyn (Brian) Britton, son Michael (Tammy), daughter Michelle (Chris) Blomberg, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
