Bang: Davis Wins His First GN Title with "The Punisher"

Peyton Davis (Tappahannock, Virginia)
"The Punisher"
2017 NTPA Grand National Four Wheel Drive Champion

Worthington, Ohio---A year after nearly closing the gap in Wauseon, Peyton Davis' "Punisher" was triumphant in Four Wheel Drive in 2017. Gaining and regaining the point lead after wins in Tomah and Langford, respectively, Davis' season was characterized by consistency: seven top-three finishes in 17 hooks and only one sub-20-point appearance. Davis' "Young Gun" (third, -18), new for this season, matched its stablemate in wins and nearly in top threes (six), giving the division's newest champ from the Old Dominion State a potential double threat well into the future. Finishing in between were the defending champion Holman Brothers and "4 Play" (-14), whose four wins in the last 11 hooks raised them from outside the top 10 to second place. Donald LaBonte's "Rock" (-20) won once and Rob Foster's "Simply Red" (-22) twice to get them Enderle Pull-Off bound.
