Worthington, Ohio---The National Tractor Pullers Association hauls into the Trucking Capital of Michigan for the Celebration on the Pond in Morley on Saturday, August 8. A Grand National class of Super Semi Trucks will be joined by Regional National Modified Minis and a state Super Stock class to churn the dirt of the Celebration Acres pulling track in one session, starting at 8 p.m.
In tractor and truck pulling, vehicles vie to pull a metal sled the greatest distance along a straight, dirt track as the sled's resistance increases. The Celebration on the Pond is part of the NTPA's Grand and Regional National circuits, with vehicles earning points toward their division's Grand National or Region II (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio) championship. The Grand National Circuit is presented by Case IH Agriculture, which will award in excess of $50,000 to top finishers in end-of-season Grand National point standings. Expected to compete in defense of his 2014 Grand National title is Dean Holicky of Montgomery, Minnesota (Super Semi, "Mother Trucker").
The Wolverine Pullers, Incorporated, an NTPA member state association, will present a Super Stock Combo class. The Wolverine Pullers sanction classes and events all summer throughout the state of Michigan.
