Worthington, Ohio---Beginning in mid-May, fans of the National Tractor Pullers Association have been able to concentrate on one event and one region at a time. From the regular-season kickoff in Millers Tavern to the first two-day event in Pinetops, then the first Region II event in Sugarcreek followed by the Grand National opener in Benson, and the Region III launch in Ellsworth leading into the much-anticipated Hutchinson, it's been a steadily paced six weeks.
Well, the crazy is about to begin.
From Thursday through Sunday, June 22-25, taking center stage is the Budweiser Dairyland NTPA Super Nationals event in Tomah, Wisconsin. Six sessions---Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday at noon and 7 p.m., and Sunday at noon---will include two appearances of each of the NTPA's 13 Grand National divisions plus Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association Light Pro Stocks on Friday afternoon. In addition to being the NTPA's largest event measured by classes and sessions, it's the second of four stops on the Shell Rotella Cup tour for Super Stock Diesel, Two Wheel Drive, Four Wheel Drive, Modified Mini, and Unlimited competitors. Can't make it to Tomah? Watch it live at WatchNTPA.com in individual sessions or as part of the $299 Season Pass package.
Meanwhile, Region II begins to spool up with three events in four days. On Friday, June 23 at 7 p.m., it's the Joshua Keith Memorial Pull in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Pro Stock and Light Pro Stock (II-East) Tractors and StainlessDiesel.com Pro Stock Diesel 4x4 3.0 Trucks will each have their second hooks of the year, while Modifieds will make their first trips down the track in 2017.
Then on Saturday, June 24 at 7 p.m., the Preble Power-O-Rama in Preble, Indiana will fill its new early-summer date with five classes: Light Pro Stock (II-West) Tractors, Four-Wheel-Drive and StainlessDiesel.com PSD Trucks, and Mini and Multi-Engine Modifieds. (Update: Check our press release or event information for detour instructions.)
And the first long weekend of the pulling season concludes with the traditional Monday night Rush County Fair Pull in Rushville, Indiana on June 26 at 7 p.m. Heavy Super Stock, Pro Stock, and Light Pro Stock (II-West) Tractors and Two-Wheel-Drive Trucks (II-West) are on the docket.
Week 8, which includes the weekend leading into July 4, is a quiet one on the national schedule. We'll be back in Week 9 with a slate that includes five events in Indiana alone, plus Rockwell's North Iowa (Grand) Nationals.
