August 3-5: Rockwell, IA’s North Iowa Nationals

Columbus, Ohio—Welcome, competitors and fans, to the 53rd championship season of the National Tractor Pullers Association!

The North Iowa Nationals presented by Graham Tire, on Thursday through Saturday, August 3-5, is the collaborative effort of the NTPA and the Rockwell Lions Club of Rockwell, Iowa. Conducted at the Chamber Acres in Rockwell, the five-session Grand National event will star all 13 Grand National divisions and one Regional National division on twin tracks. Beginning Thursday evening, sessions begin at noon and 6 p.m. Event information can be found at RockwellIALions.com, tickets and campsites may be purchased there or at NTPAPULL.com, and each of its 28 classes will be live-streamed to the world at NTPA.tv.

NTPA Championship Pulling brings together skilled competitors, dynamic machines, and ardent fans for outrageous displays of horsepower at fairgrounds and festivals across the United States. Specialized tractors, trucks, and dragsters tow a heavy metal sled along a straight, dirt track as the sled’s resistance increases. Within a class of similar vehicles, the one that pulls the sled the farthest is the winner. Pullers spend long nights traveling, wrenching, and tuning to put on the best show and take their best shot at prize money and season championships.

The North Iowa Nationals event is additionally sponsored by Hefty Seed Company, Angry Farmer Products, Van Wall Equipment, BASF, Syngenta, Ziegler CAT, Stellar Truck and Trailer, Window World, Mason City All Risk Insurance, Steffes, Absolute Waste Removal, and Indigo Wind Energy.

The North Iowa Nationals is part of the NTPA’s Grand National series presented by Case IH. Rockwell participants will come from one of 13 GN divisions—Light Super Stock, Super Stock Diesel, Super Stock Open, Super Farm, and Pro Stock Tractors; Two-Wheel-Drive, Four-Wheel-Drive, Super Stock Diesel 4×4, and Super Semi Trucks; and Mini, Light, Multi-Engine, and Unlimited Modifieds—or from the Regional National 4.1 Limited Pro Stock Tractor division. All will compete for championships (Limited Pro Stock: Region III) and berths in the 36th Enderle Memorial Pull-Off on Saturday, September 16 in Urbana, Ohio.

The North Iowa Nationals is also among the events in the Hot Shot’s Secret Challenge Series for all participating divisions. Competitors in these divisions will vie for their shares of $3,000 to be distributed to top-five Triple Crown GN point earners at season’s end.

Classes competing during each session in Rockwell are as follows (all times Central): Session One (Thursday, 6 p.m.): Super Stock Open, Two Wheel Drive, Super Stock Diesel 4×4, Mini, Light Modified, and Modified. Session Two (Friday, noon): Super Stock Open, 4.1 Pro Stock, Four Wheel Drive, and Modified.
