Haley, who led the NTPA from 1972 to 1979 as President was cited for his leadership, and active involvement in the sport -in all facets- as a competitor, promoter and as a transfer constructor/operator prior to and after the formation of the NTPA in 1970.  Haley, along with Andy Main were named as the 1980 recipients of the Lyle Bishman Memorial Award for service to the sport.  Aside from his tenure as President of the NTPA, Haley was best known for his “Haley’s Comets” and the “ladies”-“Foxy Lady” and “Little Lady” and with brother Dale, were tough competition in both super stock and modified divisions during the 1970’s.
