WPI/NTPA is saddened to learn of the passing on Wednesday, February 24 of Vernita Koester, 98, of St. Wendel, Indiana. Mrs. Koester was the mother of late Modified Mini competitor Larry Koester (“Footloose”) and the grandmother of competitors Adam Koester (“Walk the Line” MINI) and Ashley Corzine (“Rekindled” TWD).
In addition to Ashley (Craig) and Adam (Jamilee) and their mother Coral, Mrs. Koester is survived by five daughters, two sons, 24 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Her full obituary may be found here.
Visitation for family and friends of Mrs. Koester is scheduled for Friday, January 26 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pierre Funeral Home, 2801 West Franklin Street, St. Wendel, Indiana and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until her funeral service begins at 10 a.m. at St. Wendel Catholic Church, 10542 West Boonville New Harmony Road in Evansville, Indiana.
