2018 Region 4 Champions Spotlight

As we continue our recognition of 2018 Regional Champions, we take a look at Region 4. You can catch the live-stream of the banquet on ntpapull.com Saturday night December 1, thanks to Kentucky Trailer. Also be sure to see the full recaps of all the Regional and Grand National Champions in the January/February issue of The Puller Magazine.

Region IV:

Heavy Super Stock

  • Ronnie Strickland’s “Another Outlaw” found itself in high-class company Saturday in Raleigh, landing between GALOTs “I” and “II” to start the two-hook shootout first in points. A day later, Strickland finished fourth to stave off Jason Irvin’s “Drunkin’ Punkin.”

Super Farm

  • After an entire year had passed between national hooks, the Super Farms’ result was the same as in 2017. Daniel McDonald’s “Bad Boy” won the first and only hook of the season at the Southern Showdown to top Chris Hales’ “Outlaw.”

Light Pro Stock

  • Raleigh provided a single regional hook for the Light Pros, and Ron Beasley was rested and ready. He and his “Farmall Fever” cruised to a nearly 19-foot cushion over Region II regular Kevin Banion’s “Forgiven” to earn his second title.

  • In Modifieds, Don Deane and his “Plumbers Nitemare” returned to their home away from home to claim a fourth southeast region title in six years. Two wins by a combined 112 feet were too much for Richard Rockefeller’s “Policy Peddler” to underwrite.
