2021 Larry Koester Humanitarian Award Nominations Open

The Larry Koester Humanitarian Award was initiated by Shell Rotella and the Koester Family to memorialize the greatest ambassador the sport of pulling has ever known. Larry Koester Footloose His life's trajectory having been forever altered by injuries sustained in a mowing accident, Larry used his remaining three decades on this earth to entertain, challenge, and inspire countless fans and fellow competitors en route to three Grand National Modified Mini championships. His incalculably beneficial partnership with the National Tractor Pulling Championships and Make-A-Wish of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana brought forth an irrepressible and irreplaceable outreach to children and families.

In Larry's memory, we seek to recognize NTPA members who, in their own communities, industries, or spheres of influence, act in ways large or small to lift the spirits and improve the lives of others. Candidates must embrace the core principles that Larry Koester embodied so well: confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, and respect.

All nominations should be completed online through the NTPA website here. Anyone involved in NTPA truck and tractor pulling is eligible for the award.

The top three nominees will be selected and notified in early November 2021. All three will be recognized at the 2021 NTPA Banquet on December 4, where the winner will be announced during the awards ceremony. A donation to Make-A-Wish Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky will be made by Shell Rotella on behalf of the winner.
