Columbus, Ohio—Welcome, competitors and fans, to the 53rd championship season of the National Tractor Pullers Association!
The Great Jones County Fair National Summer Slide Truck and Tractor Pull on Wednesday, July 19 is the collaborative effort of the NTPA and the Jones County Fair of Monticello, Iowa. Conducted at the fairgrounds in Monticello, the one-session event will star six Regional National divisions beginning at 7 p.m.
NTPA Championship Pulling brings together skilled competitors, dynamic machines, and ardent fans for outrageous displays of horsepower at fairgrounds and festivals across the United States. Specialized tractors, trucks, and dragsters tow a heavy metal sled along a straight, dirt track as the sled’s resistance increases. Within a class of similar vehicles, the one that pulls the sled the farthest is the winner. Pullers spend long nights traveling, wrenching, and tuning to put on the best show and take their best shot at prize money and season championships.
Scheduled to appear at the National Summer Slide are Heavy Super Stock, Super Farm, and 4.1 Limited Pro Stock Tractors; Two-Wheel-Drive and Four-Wheel-Drive Trucks; and multi-engine Modifieds. All will compete for championships in the NTPA’s Region III, and the Super Farms, 4.1 Pros, Two and Four Wheel Drives, and Modifieds will pursue qualification to appear at the 36th annual Enderle Pull-Off on Saturday, September 16 in Urbana, Ohio.
