Columbus, Ohio—Welcome, competitors and fans, to the 53rd championship season of the National Tractor Pullers Association!
The Throwdown at Hoedown on Saturday, July 29 is the collaborative effort of the NTPA and the Houston Hoedown Festival of Houston, Minnesota. Conducted at the Houston Fest Grounds in Houston, the one-session event will star three Regional National divisions and four state-level divisions beginning at 7 p.m.
NTPA Championship Pulling brings together skilled competitors, dynamic machines, and ardent fans for outrageous displays of horsepower at fairgrounds and festivals across the United States. Specialized tractors, trucks, and dragsters tow a heavy metal sled along a straight, dirt track as the sled’s resistance increases. Within a class of similar vehicles, the one that pulls the sled the farthest is the winner. Pullers spend long nights traveling, wrenching, and tuning to put on the best show and take their best shot at prize money and season championships.
Scheduled to appear at the Throwdown at Hoedown are Light Super Stock, Heavy Super Stock, and 4.1 Limited Pro Stock Tractors. All will compete for championships in the NTPA’s Region III, and the 4.1 Pros will pursue qualification to appear at the 36th annual Enderle Pull-Off on Saturday, September 16 in Urbana, Ohio.
Additionally, the United Pullers of Minnesota will present classes of Pro Farm Tractors and Super Stock Four-Wheel-Drive and Pro Stock Semi Trucks, and the Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association will present a class of 2.6 Diesel Trucks. BOth are NTPA Member State organizations.
