June 27-29: Arcola, IN’s National Pull
Columbus, Ohio—The hook is in. The green flag is out. And the NTPA’s 54th championship season is on!
The National Tractor Pullers Association and the Arcola Volunteer Fire Department will join forces to present the Arcola National Truck and Tractor Pull from Thursday through Saturday, June 27-29 at Branning Park in Arcola, Indiana. The expanded event will be conducted in three sessions starting at 7 p.m. each night.
In truck and tractor pulling, specialized vehicles of a similar build take turns dragging a weight transfer sled along a straight dirt course as the sled’s resistance increases. The winner is the driver whose vehicle moves the sled the greatest distance. In NTPA Championship Pulling, competitors travel across the nation to perform at the motorsport’s most prestigious venues and in front of the world’s most passionate fans for purse money and season championships.
Three Regional National divisions will compete on Thursday night at the Arcola National Pull: Hot Farm Tractors, Pro Stock Diesel 4×4 3.0 Trucks, and multi-engine Modifieds. These three divisions will also pull on Friday and Saturday nights, and the event will award $500 to the vehicle in each division that pulls the greatest total distance.
Joining in on Friday and Saturday will be Light Pro Stock Tractors and Modified Minis. Also appearing will be Four-Wheel-Drive Trucks on Friday and Two-Wheel-Drive Trucks on Saturday.
Competitors will pull for the posted Regional National event purse for each division. RN-registered vehicles will earn points toward their divisions’ respective Region II championships (Light Pro and 3.0: Region II West; Hot Farm, Two Wheel Drive, and Modified: Region II Northwest). Moreover, all divisions will vie for berths in the 37th annual Enderle Pull-Off scheduled for Saturday, September 14 at the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana, Ohio.
