Health and safety considerations in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in the cancellation of the 2020 Anoka County Fair in Anoka, Minnesota. Resultantly, the Coors Light Shootout NTPA Regional National truck and tractor pull planned for Thursday and Friday, July 23-34 in Anoka, Minnesota, has also been cancelled and will not be rescheduled in 2020.
Tentative dates for the 2021 event in Anoka are Thursday and Friday, July 22-23.
The following is the release posted to Facebook by the Anoka County (Minnesota) Board of Directors on Friday, May 22.
It is with thoughtful consideration and great disappointment that the Anoka County Board of Directors is officially announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Anoka County Fair.
Our top priority throughout the entirety of the COVID-19 pandemic has been the health and safety of our county as well as the surrounding counties. This decision was made based on the impossibility of monitoring and enforcing social distancing requirements, the health and safety of the community, the fair’s vendors, carnival, staff, and exhibitors, as well as to preserve the financial ability of the Anoka County Fair.
Please know that this was not an easy decision to make and we are truly disappointed we will not be offering a fair for our county to enjoy this summer. However, we will be back next year with a bigger and better Anoka County Fair for you and your loved ones to enjoy together!
If you have any questions about how this decision effects you please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Stay safe, we can’t wait to see you at the 2021 fair!
