Following a virtual meeting of the directors of the Clark County Agricultural Society to discuss health and safety measures required in light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Clark County Fair in Springfield, Ohio will be conducted as a Junior Fair only. This indicated the cancellation of grandstand events including the Clark County Fair Pull of Saturday, July 25, an NTPA Regional National. The event will not be rescheduled in 2020.
The tentative date for the 2021 edition of the Clark County Fair Pull is July 24.
The following statement was released to the Ag Society's Facebook page on May 31.
The Clark County Agricultural Society Board of Directors met this evening on May 31, 2020 with 100% of the board, via Zoom ,and numerous guests present. There was a healthy review of the current situation, also the new orders issued last Friday evening on mass gatherings, the Governor's rules pertaining to conducting a Jr Fair and other pertinent business for the board. It was decided due to the strong desire to have a fair and to give the youth with projects as much opportunity as possible, that the Board will move forward with planning and executing a 2020 JR FAIR ONLY . It was noted that there is much work to be done and many details to be worked out, but the board is confident it can be done.
We request the understanding and open minds that will be required as we plan for success and most importantly attempt to set the proper examples of cooperation and leadership to the youth of our community. This years fair will be different, however, through energy and positivity perhaps some wonderful memories , experiences, and leadership will come from this years JR FAIR. We will continue to keep you updated via Facebook and Clarkcoag.com.
