It is our sad duty to report the passing on Friday, December 20 of Peter McGiffin, 56, of Barron, Wisconsin. Mr. McGiffin was a competitor on the NTPA Regional National and Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association circuits in Heavy Super Stock Diesel (International 5488, “Split Decision,” “The Last One”).
Mr. McGiffin farmed his family’s land, first with his father until the elder McGiffin’s death in 2001, and then with his mother, eventually raising crops on 2,300 acres. He was renowned for his custom combining and backhoe operation for his Pete’s Dirt Works business.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. McGiffin’s family and friends will be held on Friday, December 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals, 19 W. Messenger Street, Rice Lake, WI 54868.
