Marion, Ohio—The National Tractor Pullers Association has implemented increases in the Regional National and Pro National competitor purse payout schedules for the 2025 season. The move heralds the first such hike since 2018.
In addition to the standardization and enforcement of vehicle construction and safety rules, the regulation of contest operations, and the awarding of championship points, the NTPA establishes common purse structures for all national levels of competition.
When compared with 2024’s totals, Pro National and Regional National A purse schedules typically increased between $250 and $500 per class with an additional $30 to $80 to win. Regional National B purse schedules increased $250 in each class with an additional $25 to $50 to win.
“It was time,” said Gregg Randall, the NTPA’s Executive Director. “The Association is acutely aware that maintenance and travel costs are rising each season, and we felt it necessary to take action to send our grassroots pullers some help.
Randall continued, “With these gains at the Regional level and the Galaxy Tour at the Grand National level, the WPI and NTPA boards have made a good-faith effort to improve the compensation to our competitors who so consistently put on an amazing show for our great fans.”
Purse schedules, published in the 2025 NTPA Pulling Rules, establish the guaranteed payback to competitors for participation in NTPA-sanctioned national events. Purses are paid by event promoters, and the schedules do not prohibit promoters from paying bonus money or raised purses. In most cases, funds are distributed to competitors via Direct Deposit or checks originating from the NTPA office. Unclaimed purse amounts are repaid to the promoter.
