Columbus, Ohio—The hook is in. The green flag is out. And the NTPA’s 54th championship season is on!
The National Tractor Pullers Association and the Sandwich Fair Association will join forces to present the DeKalb County Fair NTPA Grand Nationals on Thursday and Saturday, September 5 and 7 at the fairgrounds in Sandwich, Illinois. The event will be conducted in three sessions: Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m.
In truck and tractor pulling, specialized vehicles of a similar build take turns dragging a weight transfer sled along a straight dirt course as the sled’s resistance increases. The winner is the driver whose vehicle moves the sled the greatest distance. In NTPA Championship Pulling, competitors travel across the nation to perform at the motorsport’s most prestigious venues and in front of the world’s most passionate fans for purse money and season championships.
Five Grand National and three Regional National divisions will compete at the DeKalb County Fair Pull. On Thursday’s Truck Night will include GN Super Stock Diesel 4×4 and RN Two-Wheel-Drive, Four-Wheel-Drive, and Pro Stock Diesel 4×4 3.6 Trucks. Saturday’s Tractor Day will feature NewFields Ag Super Stock Diesel, Hi Torque Super Farm, and Yoder Popcorn Pro Stock Tractors and multi-engine Modifieds in both sessions.
Competitors will pull for the posted Grand National or raised Pro National event purse for each division. GN- or RN-registered vehicles will earn points toward their divisions’ respective championships, and all but the PSD 4×4 3.6 will vie for berths in the 37th annual Enderle Pull-Off scheduled for Saturday, September 14 at the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana, Ohio.
Online event entry (including the completion of driver full-year or provisional licensure and vehicle full-year or provisional registration) is required for entrants into all GN classes at this event. Instructions for online entry into this and all NTPA GN classes in 2024 may be found on the front page of NTPAPULL.com. The competitor entry deadline for the DeKalb County Fair Grand Nationals is noon Eastern on Labor Day, Monday, September 2. No entrants will be accepted after this deadline or on-site.
Online event entry for RN classes is available but not required. RN class entry will be conducted on-site.
