SF Competitor Ryan Anderson’s Father Has Passed; Update: Funeral Info

WPI/NTPA regrets to report the passing on Wednesday, March 22 of David Anderson, 77, of Rankin, Illinois. Mr. Anderson was the father of Grand National Super Farm competitor Ryan Anderson (“Check’n Out”) of Hoopeston, Illinois.

Mr. Anderson joined his parents in the farming of his family’s land in 1963. He served Vermilion County as a deputy coroner for nearly three decades and assisted at the Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home. Ryan later purchased the business to create Anderson Funeral Home.

In addition to Ryan, Megan, and Faith, Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Karen, sons Todd (Sara) and Nathan (Shannon), sister Judy (Roger) Hooper, four other grandchildren, his mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mr. Anderson’s family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, Illinois 60942. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the FFA Alumni for the David Anderson Memorial C/O Anderson Funeral Home.
